Study
After having completed her musical studies at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Gerhard Meijer, Dutch soprano Ellen van Haaren started a professional singing career which took her to Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, South America, Canada and Japan.

 
Opera Companies
In her native country Ellen van Haaren regularly appears in productions of the major opera companies, under the baton of internationally renowned conductors, such as Ingo Metzmacher, Patrick Davin, Oliver von Dohnanyi, Michael Halasz, Hartmut Haenchen, Eri Klas, Lawrence Renes, Vassily Sinaiski, Jac van Steen and Edo de Waart.
De Nederlandse Opera
While at De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam she worked with stage directors like Willy Decker, Pierre Audi, David and Christopher Alden, Richard Jones, David Edwards, Brigitte Fassbaender and Ernst Theo Richter.
Recitals in oratoria en operetta
She is equally in demand as recitalist, in oratorio and operetta and made several concert tours in Canada with Russian baritone Yuri Mazurok, to great critical and public acclaim.Ms Van Haaren has been featured with the Dutch radio orchestras and on TV.

Japan
In 2007 Ellen van Haaren made her debut in Japan as Lady Billows in a stage production of Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring.
